About

Hi, I’m Caroline, the owner of Stag & Story.
My love for old things started long before this business did. Growing up, I spent weekends going to estate sales with my mom, searching through old houses for a special piece. Around the same time, I started thrifting my clothes because I enjoyed discovering something unique. My grandfather was a serious collector who traveled to England every year for antique shows and I think his appreciation for history passed down to me.
What began as a way to make rent while working an unfulfilling job slowly turned into a business I deeply love. I started by salvaging discarded furniture from Facebook Marketplace, cleaning it up, photographing it properly, and reselling it. Over time, that grew into a business centered around preserving handcrafted pieces of history from around the world.
Today, I’m especially drawn to 19th-century European antiques, beautifully bound books, moody oil paintings, aged wood, and pieces that feel as though they belong in a Scottish castle library. Much of my collection is found through antique fairs, dealers, estate collections, and antiquing trips throughout Europe. I care deeply about craftsmanship and preservation and I believe old objects are small pieces of history worth protecting.
Stag & Story is still very much a one-woman business. I personally curate, research, and sell every piece that passes through the shop. My hope is that the pieces you find here help create a home full of character and history.
