Vie du Dauphin is an antique French biography published in 1825. Its title translates to “Life of the Dauphin, Father of Louis XV, Written from the Memoirs of the Court and Enriched by His Own Writings.” This book, bound in full purple leather, is Volume I and recounts the life of Louis, Duke of Burgundy, the grandson of Louis XIV and father of the future Louis XV. Following the deaths of both his father and grandfather, the young Louis XV inherited the French throne.
